Method A -------- 1) Wait until the jumping mouse effect appears 2) Disconnect the device causing this effect from the computer's COM port 3) Open the computer's "Control Panel": Use System\Hardware\Device Manager\Mice and other pointing devices path to obtain access to "Microsoft Serial Ballpoint" device. Use "Disable" via right mouse button menu to disable use of this device. 4) Exit from all menus, disconnect power from the computer 5) Connect the disconnected navigational sensors, turn on the computer power supply. Check that there is no "jumping mouse" effect and data is supplied correctly. Method B -------- Unplug your GPS from the PC and disable serial mouse devices as follows: 1) Right click My Computer 2) Select Properties 3) Select Advanced Tab 4) Select Settings in Startup and Recovery 5) Select Edit 6) Add /NoSerialMouse (this is case sensitive so add it exactly as shown here) to the line that looks like: multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\XP="Windows XP" /fastdetect so that it now reads: multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\XP="Windows XP" /fastdetect /NoSerialMouse 7) File -> Exit Save yes 8) OK 9) Reboot and re-attach your GPS
